Qualification

This competition is divided into six categories: Elementary School, Junior High School, Senior High School, Vocational High School, Higher Education/ Community and Teacher. The Elementary School, Junior High School, Senior High School and Vocational High School categories are collectively referred to as the K-12 Division

Eligibility:

  1. General Eligibility: Each participant may only enter one team. Cross-school teams are allowed, but cross-category participation is strictly prohibited (e.g., high school students cannot participate in the junior high category).
    Participants found to have entered multiple categories will be disqualified.
  2. Eligibility for the Teacher Category:Full-time, substitute, intern, or pre-service teachers from elementary, junior high, senior high, or vocational high schoolsare eligible to participate in the teacher category.
  3. Participants who are found to have plagiarized in two consecutive years will be permanently banned from the competition
  4. To ensure fairness, team uniforms, school badges, or any other identifiable school-related items are not allowed in submissions. Teams that violate this rule will be penalized 2 points.

Bonus Points:

  1. To encourage science exploration, teams with female, indigenous, second-generation immigrant, or students from remote or offshore islands of Taiwan
    (e.g., a team with a female, Indigenous student who came from a offshore island school in Taiwan will receive a 1.5-point bonus)
  2. Teams can earn an additional 0.5 points for each reference to a one of five national science museum in Taiwan. (Website URL or exhibition name are required to earn the bonus)
  3. The maximum total bonus points is 2 points.
  4. Schools (representatives, or lead teacher) must declare special bonus categories during registration in good faithAny false or fabricated information will result in the forfeiture of awards and may lead to legal consequences.

Lead Teacher Eligibility:

  1. For those who are going to participate in the elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, and vocational high school group, please note that the Lead teacher will be the representative of the team and will thus be required to create an account in order to create a team.
  2. A maximum of two Lead Teacher will be allowed for each team. If there are two in a team, then the main Lead Teacher will have to fill in the relevant information for the assistant Lead Teacher when you are creating your team.
  3. The Lead Teacher for the Higher Education/ Community category is optional. (Only one Lead Teacher allowed)。
  4. Lead Teacher must be those who are must be full-time, substitute, or intern teachers. (Teachers employed by cram schools are not included)
  5. Lead Teacher can lead multiple teams across every category (e.g., Teacher A who teaches at a certain junior high school is allowed to lead other teams from other elementary schools, senior high schools, and vocational high schools), and the Lead Teacher are allowed to lead as many as they could.
